Grade A Battery Cells

Quality: Grade A cells are the highest quality, made with top-notch materials and advanced technology to ensure the best performance.
Performance: They have very stable charging and discharging abilities, often delivering slightly more capacity than advertised. For example, a 100Ah lithium iron phosphate cell from EVE might actually have a capacity of 102Ah.
Production: These cells are manufactured following strict specifications, typically ordered directly from the factory.
Identification: They usually come with a QR code containing detailed information about the battery's specifications.
Availability: Due to their high demand in the electric vehicle (EV) market, Grade A cells are often difficult to find on the general market since they are prioritized for EV manufacturers.


Grade B Battery Cells

Defect Rate: Grade B cells have a slightly higher defect rate compared to Grade A. For major manufacturers, the defect rate is around 2%, while smaller producers may see rates of 5%-10%.
Specification Variations: These cells may show slight differences in capacity or dimensions, but their performance remains good enough for many applications.
Storage Issues: If a Grade A battery sits in storage for 3-6 months without being used or shipped, it might be downgraded to Grade B.
Price: They are generally more affordable than Grade A cells, making them a cost-effective option for less demanding uses.

Grade C Battery Cells
Quality and Performance: Grade C cells are of lower quality with reduced energy storage, efficiency, and overall performance compared to Grade A and B cells.
Storage Duration: If Grade B cells stay in storage for over 8 months, they often become Grade C due to aging effects.
Aging and Risks: Long storage times can cause these cells to degrade, potentially leading to issues like swelling or leakage.
Performance Comparison: They usually function at about 50%-70% of the efficiency of Grade A cells.
Safety Concerns: They have lower durability and safety standards, with performance declining more quickly after a few charging cycles.


How to Distinguish Different Grades of Battery Cells

Manufacturer's Test Report: The easiest way to tell the difference between Grade A and B cells is by checking for a detailed test report from the original manufacturer. This report should show data on internal resistance, voltage, capacity, and the product code.
QR Code Check: The battery's QR code should match the information in the test report. If the code or report is missing, there’s a high chance that the cell is Grade B.
Recovered Cells: Even some Grade A cells that have been used and recovered might be classified as Grade B.
